Hardware

Software

My Flash DSLR300 won't work.?

I received a Canon Rebel xsi for christmas along with a DSLR300 Universal Flash. Its been great up until about a month ago. It has completely stopped working. When I switch it to the on button it makes a buzzing noise, but will not flash. I put fresh batteries in it and it still does not work. Any ideas?

Here are some reviews for that flash. Note the review titled-Broken in three months. It's a cheap flash. Flashes seem to be one of the accessories, like lenses, where you can't go cheap. I'm sure that whoever bought it for you was being very thoughtful but probably knows very little about camera flashes. These cheaper flashes tend to take longer to recycle and sometimes misfire.

Look at Metz, Sigma , Sunpak and Vivitar for less expensive, but quality alternatives to Nikon brand flashes.
